Chevy dual tank wiring diagram. One is +12 volt the second connector is the return wire from the fuel sending unit maybe somebody has a wiring diagram. I replaced the sending unit with a known good one and still nothing.i think the problem could be in the wiring so if anybody has a wiring diagram or any other suggestions please help. As mentioned above, a fuel tank sending unit is nothing more than a variable resistor, and the fuel gauge is simply measuring the resistance between the hot wire and the ground.

Also the fuel pump sending unit plug/wire harnesses were known issues, so much that replacement pumps would often come with replacement plug to splice into existing harness.

With the wiring installed, the fuel pump assembly is inserted into the tank, with the new sending unit still loose from the assembly.
